Nancy Wilder

Nancy Wilder creates ethereal, wearable textiles by combining hand dyed silks and wool fiber. Each piece features unique textures and colors which reflect those found in nature.

Fashion design was her major in college; she also dabbled in art and science. Today she utilizes all those skills in her work, which makes her process somewhat of an adventure; as both dyeing and felting can be relied on to produce fantastic, and sometimes unexpected, results.

Inspiration comes from everywhere, but mostly from the nature around me - the colors in a decaying leaf, or how the surface of the ocean changes with the wind. My work appeals to the aesthetic of balance and beauty, each piece a one of a kind, and very wearable.
